To contact her for her recordings, go to her site and order a copy of "For Each Other" or "Keep Believing" or just go ahead and get both of them. She's pretty special indeed. Tweed
As those of you who know me from Tweeds know,I am a hardcore blues fanatic,I don't care for most other genres of music and can be very outspoken about music that I don't like.I'm really not sure what genre Kity Wests music falls into,I guess I would call it folk, for lack of a better name. Its not folk music in the vein of the groups like Peter,Paul & Mary,The New Christy Minstrels or The Kingston Trio. Kitty covers songs by Kris Kristofferson,Bob Dylan,S(Stevie?)Nicks,& Crosby,Stills & Nash. She also sings a lot of songs of her own composition. The thing that strikes me most about Kitty's singing, other than her beautiful voice,is that she is able to draw you into the song. It's as if she is singing to an audience of one, like she is singing to you and nobody else. She also has the ability to pick songs that anyone can relate to.Listening to her music transported me back in time to places in my heart that I'm not sure I wanted to revisit.Places that hold love, pain, humor & even anger, places that I have long since put out of mind. Her singing brought back a flood of memories of relationships from my past, good relationships as well as some that weren't so good. As I said earlier, mixed emotions.
I already said that Kitty has a beautiful voice, but that is an understatement.I don't have the words to describe this ladys singing voice,so I'm going to leave it as BEAUTIFUL!If Tweed will post some of her songs you can judge for yourself.
Ordinarly,I wouldn't even think of listening to anything but blues
music,no other music can move my soul like blues does.Until now! Kitty
West
was able to move my soul with her music, she has changed my outlook on
music. Now I'll restrict my listening to blues AND Kitty West!
Thank you Kitty for the chance to hear your music,it's an experience
like
I've never felt before.
Would I recomend buying Kitty Wests music? The answer is YES,but only if
you are prepared to revisit places in your heart and in your soul that
may
confuse your emotions.Kitty's music will overtake your emotions.
That's my review and I'm sticking with it!
