 tune-o-matic on a spider?

Here's a question fer all you luthiers/injaneers - I'm trying to get a little better handle on the intonation on this electric resonator. Yeah, it's got a factory cone, probably not a Beard or Molonator. But the thing I can't dial in is the bridge, either the scale length or saddle height, seein as how it's fixed in the spider.

Anybody ever done some experimentin' around with these? If you could use such a metal bridge, would it accentuate the metallic tone?

Have no idea, am a little skeerd about jumpin into uncharted territory. Reminds me of when we learned how to play flamethrower using mom's large can of Aqua Net and the cigarette lighter...........

Steve, I'm guessing you have omitted putting a link to a photo of this partictular guitar? It sounds like it could be a Mosrite, Glen Campbell used one at one stage.

A while back I was collecting parts for a couple necks and bodies I have laying around. I found a guy in Britain that made bridges for resos with individual intonation. I no longer have the link but suspect a little search engine work would find them. I can't do it right now.

what guitar are you working on?

I once walked away from a mosrite I could have had extremely reasonably. another one of those moments to regret.

You can intonate the wooden bridge with a file. Set it up without the cover and Use guitar strings to find the sweet spot then file a peak at that location. If you're pickey . LOL If you use your ears you can adjust with the slide or you picking finger.

Working on a Cozart which is a copy of (or made by license to) Jay Turser JT-res. Supposedly these are made by John Cozart, violinmaker, who lived in Texas and moved to France. Bought it from a guy in MS.

Played one of these years ago at a guitar store in Illinois and really liked it - not the best looking guitar, but good for going from fingerpicking to slide, shore do like the resonator - first one I ever had!

Y'all tell me how to load a pic directly, I'll get a shot or two.

I play a Jay Turser SG jr. I've got Fenders and G&L, but they are heavier. I bought it off ebay, I wish it was walnut as advertised, instead of a dark walnut stain, which looks black.
C.F. Moore added two Jays to his collection after I started sittin' in with mine. Nice price for a player.

I've got to replace a bridge on a Delta Blues six string, and set up the bolt on neck on a Strings & Things / St. Blues. tele/strat. First time I've bought two in one day. I can't pass up a bargain.

The Delta Blues says Memphis Guitar Co.
Anybody know of them?
