Head to the generator store. Ice and wind !

I sure hope this is not a repeat of that bad Ice around ten years ago with the added treat of high winds ! Gonna park my car away from trees anyway. This crazy weather just gets worse every year.

Man, ya'll make ol' hillbilly green with envy... I got 28 inches of snow with maybe another 12 on the way... I lives back in a holler.... My drive way is 1/2 mile long... I been diggin' for three days with my Kabuto tractor an' I ain't but half way out with the new snow comin' tomorrow... I got piles of snow 8 feet deep on both sides of the drive way and nowhere else to put it... Plus, I'm down to about 6 beers and about 3 jiggers of shine and no pot... The house is cold 'cause its incased in snow, the bad blood got my mare-- no, I ain't got a mare which is a good thing 'cause if I had one then bad blood would have it-- That's why I'm a bluesman...

It's bad down here on the Great Sandbar too.

Today I got up and the temperature was in the MID 60's and there were actual clouds in the sky masking the sunrise! It's been a hard winter fer all I reckon.

My cousins in Wyoming and I have a deal. I don't complain about summers in Florida and they don't complain about winters in Wyoming. But my cousin's grandson emailed to say they were having a party a couple weeks ago to celebrate being over 20 above for two days in a row

Ten inches and counting here. Now the blowing and drifting. As an added bonus, the temps drop into the singles the next couple of nights.

Mid 60s??? Horrors... I'll get a gift card out to see yer local shrink as soon as I can make it outta here... Don't make no appointment yet 'cause that might be for months...

By tomorrow we will have recived between 40 and 50 inches of snow in a one week period...
I had to walk out (two hours) thru knee deep snow today to meet up with a buddy who brought me a case of beer... Now that is the blues...

But real sorry fir ya'll havin' to suffer from the 60s... Like Mike said, "Be sure to wear yer longjohns"...

40-50 inches of snow, Bobz?? Geez, how do you find anything outside of your house with that much snow??

Cousins in Canada told me about a snow one time where it was so deep that the dogs were looking DOWN into the windows of the house from the outside!

The biggest problem over here is the ground frost. I work as an engineer for a County technical department(water and waste water)and there's so many frozen water pipes this year. Most of it is private pipes to people houses. Our service people has to help the plumbers and has been real busy steaming pipes since Christmas.

They say the ground frost is 9 feet at the worst were the only one of our main pipes were frozen.

It's darn cold playing a National steel this year....

Well, Mizzy... The stuff that I need to find is under roof... I gotta an equipment barn that is purdy big... I got my truck in there, the P-Vine CRV and my Kabuto tractor... For the most part they aren't being snowed on except for the snow that the wind blows in there... Then I've dug paths from the house to the bird feeder and to the driveway and to the heat pump and I try to keep them shoveled clean...

Yesterday, all the news folks wanted to talk about was how there were gonna be alot roofs collapsin' from the new snow (which is fallin' now)... I think they got everyone sufficiently scared so I imagine the hospitals will be filled with ol' guys who are gonna try to get up on their roofs today... Kinda one of them Darwin things as far as I'm concerned... I mean, accordin' to the Wes Ginny Slide Rule yer cahnces of getting hurt tryin' to get up on your roof or being up there are 1000 times greater than the chances of yer roof collapsin'...

Now if this were an area of the country where folks routinely get lots of snow and where they sell "roof rakes" it would be a different story but tryin to get up there with a snow shovel ain't all that smart...

As fir here, looks as if we have dodged the real deep stuff outta Blizzard #3 and amybe end up with between 6 and 8 inches on top of the remnants of the other two Blizzards... I can live with 8 inches... Mr Kabuta and I can get that outta the portion of the driveway that I had allready dug oug... Then it will be back to the "Bigass Dig of 2010"...

But I got beer!!!
